Claude 3.5 Sonnet has finally arrived in Canada and I can’t be more excited (as someone who is based in Canada). As a digital marketer, I’m constantly amazed by the capabilities of AI, and I found Claude just pushed the limit even further!
In this article, I’m going to share the unique strengths of Claude that I’ve discovered compared to ChatGPT or Gemini, along with some of the best use cases for digital marketing. Whether you’re a seasoned marketer or just starting out, you’ll find valuable insights on how to leverage this powerful AI tool.
Like ChatGPT, Claude AI offers both free and paid plans. The paid plan, which currently priced at $20 per month, comes with some significant advantages:
- Access to the advanced AI models Claude 3.5 Sonnet, Claude Opus
 - Access to the project feature (exclusive to pro users)
 - 5 times more usage than the free plan

It’s worth noting that while the paid plan offers more, it’s not unlimited. If you’re planning to analyze large amounts of data, you might run through your usage pretty quickly. For the following use cases, we’ll focus on what you can achieve with the free version.
Claude AI’s Unique Strengths Compared with ChatGPT
Humanized Writing
For the same prompt in producing long-form or short-form content, Claude produces a much better response than ChatGPT. It’s really natural and sounds like an authentic human. Although some sentences may still need to be fine-tuned, most of the time the first draft is already quite satisfying. You can use it to prepare drafts for different types of writing, hooks, and ideas.
Humanized Thinker with Great Contextual Understanding
Claude has a big contextual window with 200 thousand tokens, meaning it can consider around 500 pages of text at the same time. Generally, Claude not only has good contextual understanding, but it can retain that understanding throughout the whole conversation. In contrast, ChatGPT sometimes starts to hallucinate or forget details in the middle of a conversation.

Generally, Claude not only has good contextual understanding, but it can retain that understanding throughout the whole conversation. In contrast, ChatGPT sometimes starts to hallucinate or forget details in the middle of a conversation.
Claude is also a humanized thinker. Its output is always thoughtful and empathic. If you ask it to pick an option for you, it will lay out the rationale and really pick one, versus ChatGPT, where the answer is often inconclusive.
Coding with Artifacts
Another strength is definitely its coding ability and its unique Artifact feature. This is probably the most hyped feature since the rollout of 3.5 Sonnet. Once you turn on this artifact feature, you can interact with standalone content generated in a separate window, for example, documents, a webpage mockup, or a diagram. There are lots of possible ways you can use it.
Best Use Cases for Claude AI in Digital Marketing
Analyze writing styles for content generation
One of the most effective ways to use Claude is for analyzing writing styles and generating content. Instead of just asking it to create content directly, you can first ask it to analyze your writing style using your own content samples. Here’s an effective approach where you can repeat and build a workflow:
- Provide writing samples: Feed Claude with several of your own writing samples.
 - Request style analysis: Ask Claude to analyze the writing style, including:
- Sentence structure
 - Vocabulary usage
 - Tone and voice
 - Writing techniques
 - Content pacing

 - Generate a style guide: Instruct Claude to format the response as a actionable writing style guide.
 - Apply the style: Use this guide to instruct Claude (or another AI assistant) when generating new content.

For example, let’s say I have 3 writing samples (in this case, from Tim Ferriss). We can ask Claude to analyze his writing style and create a writing style guide. The response is typically actionable, concise, and easy to follow. Always review and adjust the guide before finalizing. Next, we can ask Claude to generate an article using the attached writing style guide. In the test, Claude followed the style guide well. While the title “Conquering the Iron Jungle” needed changing, and some subheadings required adjustment, the overall body content was quite good. It used a mix of sentence structures, maintained a casual and conversational tone, and captured Tim Ferriss’s style with many punchy lines.
A tip here is to always make adjustments before finalizing. Also, when generating long-form content, it’s recommended to ask Claude to generate paragraph by paragraph rather than the whole draft at once. Always give more guidance on the key points you want to make for even better responses.
It’s important to note that you shouldn’t feed others’ writing samples just to copy their style completely, as this will lack your personality. Use them as inspiration and adjust. Also, try not to mix different content types – if you’re preparing an email writing style, feed it with email writing samples; if you’re preparing an article writing style, feed it with article writing samples. This approach can be applied to any type of content generation, whether it’s short-form or long-form content.
Competitive positioning analysis with different perspectives
Another powerful use case for Claude AI is conducting competitive positioning analysis. What makes this approach unique is Claude’s ability to provide thoughtful opinions from different perspectives, including those of well-known world leaders. This can inspire your strategic thinking as you prepare competitive analysis for your brand or clients.
Here’s how you can leverage this capability:
- Prepare a positioning document: Include key information about your brand positioning, target market, audience, unique selling points, competitor details, and market information.
 - Ask Claude for insights: Request Claude to provide insights and suggestions on how to differentiate your brand from competitors and strategies to attract more customers.
 - Incorporate different perspectives: Ask Claude to use the perspective of notable figures like Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, or Jeff Bezos. This provides multiple viewpoints to inspire your thinking.

For example, let’s say I’m doing a competitive positioning analysis between PicMonkey (our example brand) and Canva (the competitor). We feed Claude the positioning document and ask for insights on differentiating PicMonkey and strategies to attract more designers, from the perspectives of Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, and Jeff Bezos.
Claude’s response typically includes:
- Differentiation strategies based on each leader’s decision-making style
 - Unique approaches to attracting designers
 - A summary that ties together the different perspectives

The quality of these responses often exceed what you might get from other AI assistants, as I found Claude always able to provide constructive feedback with its own thoughtful opinions.
Pro tip: Choose significant, well-known leaders you admire and ask Claude how they would approach different business scenarios. This method can generate numerous inspiring ideas for your competitive strategy.
This approach leverages Claude’s strong contextual reasoning and ability to provide thoughtful, multi-faceted opinions. It’s an excellent way to broaden your strategic thinking and gain fresh perspectives on your competitive positioning.
Sentiment Analysis
Claude AI excels at analyzing customer reviews and comments, identifying sentiment, and providing constructive feedback. This capability is incredibly useful for research purposes and can save you significant time in processing customer feedback.
Here’s how to effectively use Claude for sentiment analysis:
- Gather reviews or comments: These can be from various sources such as Google Business Profile reviews, e-commerce store product reviews, or YouTube video comments.
 - Export the comments: Use a tool like “Export Comments” to extract the reviews. This tool allows you to extract 100 comments for free without an account and works with various platforms.
 - Feed the data to Claude: Ask Claude to analyze the reviews, looking for both positive and negative highlights, and to provide recommendations.

For example, let’s say I want to understand what a (example) competitor, “Men in Kilts Window Cleaning” is doing well and where they could improve. We can:
- Use the “Export Comments” tool to extract their Google Business Profile reviews.
 - Feed these reviews to Claude and ask for analysis.

Claude’s response typically includes:
- An accurate summary of what customers like
 - Areas for improvement
 - Specific and helpful recommendations based on both positive and negative feedback

For instance, Claude might suggest expanding services or offering loyalty discounts based on positive feedback, in addition to addressing areas of criticism. This approach can be applied in different scenarios:
- Analyzing your own brand’s feedback
 - Researching competitors to understand their strengths and weaknesses
 - Identifying common customer problems to refine your messaging

Pro tip: When asking Claude to analyze sentiment, be specific about what insights you’re looking for. This will help Claude provide more targeted and actionable feedback.
By using its sentiment analysis capabilities, you can gain deep insights into customer perceptions, competitive landscapes, and areas for improvement in your digital marketing strategy.
Topical cluster mapping for SEO
Claude AI can quickly build a topical cluster map for your keyword research process. This is particularly useful when you’re doing keyword research and need to analyze keywords to build different topic clusters. Topic clusters are groups of pages or content targeting the same topic, helping you strategically build content for your niche and improve SEO. Here’s how to use Claude for topical cluster mapping:
- Conduct keyword research: Use your preferred keyword research tool (e.g., SEMRush, Ahrefs, SE Ranking) to gather keywords related to your topic.
 - Filter your keywords: Apply filters such as keyword difficulty, search volume, and search intent to focus on the most promising keywords.
 - Export and clean your data: Export the filtered keywords as a CSV file. Clean the file by removing unnecessary columns to avoid hitting Claude’s conversation length limit.
 - Feed the data to Claude: Ask Claude to generate topic clusters from the keyword data and show the top 10 keywords for each cluster based on highest search volume and lowest keyword difficulty.

For example, lLet’s say I’m doing keyword research around the topic “wedding makeup” targeting the users in United States:
- Pull a list of keywords related to “wedding makeup” from SEMRush.
 - Filter for keywords with:
- Keyword difficulty score no more than 30
 - Volume at least 50
 - Informational search intent

 - Export the filtered list as a CSV file and clean it by removing unnecessary columns.
 - Feed the data to Claude and ask it to generate topic clusters.

Claude’s response typically includes:
- Identified topic clusters (e.g., “Dramatic and Themed Wedding Makeup”)
 - Top 10 keywords for each cluster based on search volume and keyword difficulty
 - Suggestions for potential pillar content and supporting articles

Pro tip: You can ask Claude to create a visual topical mind map to easily explain the clusters to clients or team members. Claude can even refine this into a more polished visual for presentation purposes.
This approach allows you to quickly organize your keyword research into strategic content clusters, facilitating more effective SEO planning and content creation.
Creating carousel-style social posts
With Claude’s artifact feature, you can draft and structure carousel-style social posts effectively. From my experience, carousel posts are one of the best post formats for driving engagement on social media platforms.
Here’s how to use Claude for creating carousel posts:
- Prepare your content: Have the key information or guide you want to feature in your post ready.
 - Instruct Claude: Ask Claude to summarize the key takeaways, using both good and bad examples to make it easy to understand and concise.
 - Specify the structure: Provide Claude with a clear structure for the post, such as cover, hook, importance, key takeaways, and call-to-action.
 - Request visual elements: Ask Claude to include emojis where appropriate and to beautify the slides as if they’re ready to post on the platform of your choice.

For example, let’s say I’m a marketing manager at Google planning a carousel-style post on LinkedIn to share highlights from a prompting guide 101, aiming to drive traffic to the download page.
Here’s the instructions I can give to Claude:
- Summarize key takeaways from the guide
 - Use both good and bad examples for clarity
 - Follow the structure: cover, hook, importance, key takeaways, CTA
 - Include emojis where appropriate
 - Design slides as if they’re ready to post on LinkedIn

Claude’s response typically includes:
- A skeleton for the post, with each slide as a separate artifact
 - An engaging hook using interesting facts to trigger curiosity
 - Well-structured takeaways with both bad and good examples
 - A clear call-to-action with a CTA button

Pro tip: You can ask Claude to combine all the artifacts into one post draft, which you can then publish and share with your team for further refinement or design work.
This approach allows you to quickly create engaging, structured social media content, saving time in the ideation and initial design phases of your social media marketing efforts.
Designing landing pages layout without coding knowledge
Another way I found is that Claude AI can be a powerful tool for creating landing page layouts for your campaigns or product launches. This is particularly useful when you need a quick draft to start with before working with a design team, or simply to generate ideas. Here’s how to use Claude for designing landing pages:
- Prepare your brief: Have key information about your product or campaign ready.
 - Instruct Claude: Ask it to build a landing page layout based on your brief.
 - Specify details (optional): If you have specific sections in mind, you can include these in your instructions. Otherwise, you can leave it open for inspiration.

For example, let’s say I’m building a one-pager for a SaaS product – an AI solution that generates click-worthy Ad taglines within minutes and provides seamless integration with Google Ads.
Instruction prompt to Claude: “Help build a landing page layout for my SaaS product [include product description].”
Claude’s response typically includes:
- A complete landing page draft
 - Clear sections including:
- Hero section with tagline and CTA button
 - Core benefits
 - How the solution works
 - Customer testimonials
 - Plan and pricing details

Pro tips: If you’re happy with the layout, you can ask Claude to generate the HTML and CSS files for you. Also, you can publish the artifact and share it with your team for further brainstorming. This approach isn’t limited to landing pages – you can apply it to building small widgets, on-site modules, lead forms, etc. Alternatively, you can upload hand-drawings or simple diagrams and ask Claude to generate an actual demo page.
This method allows you to quickly visualize and iterate on landing page designs without needing deep coding knowledge, speeding up your marketing campaign development process.
Building interactive dashboards for data analysis
Claude AI can help you build interactive dashboards for various types of data, allowing you to not only visualize data but also interact with it. This process is similar to using common data visualization tools, but Claude makes it faster and doesn’t require in-depth technical knowledge or setup. Here’s how to use Claude for building interactive dashboards:
- Prepare your data: Have your data ready in a format Claude can understand (preferably text or PDF).
 - Feed the data to Claude: Provide the data and ask Claude to build an interactive dashboard.
 - Specify requirements: Ask for specific elements like charts, graphs, and filters to allow for easy analysis.

For example, let’s say we have a financial report from Ikea, and we want to create an interactive dashboard from it.
Instruction Prompt to Claude: “Build an interactive dashboard that displays the insights from this financial report in a clear and insightful way. Include charts, graphs, and filters to allow for easy analysis.”
Claude’s response typically includes:
- A dashboard showing key financial metrics
 - Visual elements like top-line sales breakdown and bar charts
 - Key highlights from the report

For better results, you can include specific details or areas you want Claude to focus on in your instructions. This approach can be useful for market research presentations, making them more engaging and interactive.
However, there are important considerations: Claude has restrictive usage limits, so it’s best to use this feature with publicly available data in text or PDF format, rather than large datasets in Excel or CSV format. For data privacy reasons, it’s not recommended to feed Claude with sensitive campaign data or client data to build and publish dashboards. Also, you can build similar dashboards with many other tools and so consider using Claude primarily for inspiration or for private use cases.
This method allows you to quickly create interactive data visualizations, enhancing your ability to analyze and present data in your digital marketing efforts. However, always keep in mind the limitations and privacy considerations when using AI tools for data analysis.
